With crossovers fighting for supremacy in the compact premium segment, the Audi is prepping for the next-gen 2019 Audi Q3. The Q3 has been in existence since 2011. Therefore, this is the perfect time for a facelift. Apparently, the Ingolstadt-based marque is currently in the advanced stages of drive tests. We’ve spied on the future generation Q3, and it appears the prototype has all the production body panels and lights.
The inbound version highlights fairly small alloy wheels and the halogen headlights. These crucial elements suggest that we’re anticipating for a lesser version of the crossover.
2019 Audi Q3 – Attractive Sporty Look
The new 2019 Audi Q3 has a large single-frame grille, roof rails, aluminum trim, LED taillights and a spoiler on the hatch. The Audi also integrates the exhaust trips with the rear bumper. The inbound Q3 draws a lot of styling cues from the rally-bred Audi Quattro that debuted back in the 1980s. Hence, we will find elements such as flared wheels and the rear end like that of the Ur-Quattro. Besides, the upcoming 2019 Audi Q3 grows in dimensions given that it slots just above the Q2. Also, it is longer, lower and wider than the previous version.
The makers of Q3 model will be adding about 2 to 2.75 inches to the length and another 2 inches to the width. When it comes to the inside, we expect high-class materials and impeccable fit and finish. The overall layout mirrors the latest A4, with a renovated steering wheel and fewer buttons on the dashboard. The large touchscreen is mounted in a commanding stance above the center stack.
The Audi’s renowned Virtual Cockpit occupies the gauge cluster. Leather upholstery comes as standard, and we’ll have an array of colors to choose. Passenger safety comes by default in the 2019 Audi Q3. It receives the newest automated and safety technologies that include lane-keep assist, automatic braking, a blind-spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert. Other tech features comprise Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, a WI-FI hotspot and voice control.
Engine Options in the 2019 Audi Q3
The U.S. customers receive the same powertrain as before, with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit hooked to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The Audi offers both Front-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive options. The incumbent Audi Q3 produces 200 HP and 207 lb-ft of torque. However, the incoming Audi Q3’s four-banger is expected to offer extra output and a slightly higher mpg.
Rumor has it that Audi is likely to treat us to the pumped-up performance variant called the RS Q3. This edition sports a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder unit, which pumps up to 340 HP and 330 lb-ft of torque. This model is set to become a much better complement to the Quattro-inspired styling approaches.
Expected Debut Date and Cost
The 2019 Audi Q3 is scheduled to grace the auto bazaar in early-to-mid 2018. Remember, delays are possible in this regard. The entry-level trim (the Premium Plus) might start at $33,000 while the range-topping model (the Prestige) would start at $42,000.
